New Equipment, Better Results: Driving Quality and Efficiency in Our Precision Machining Services

At GPR Company, continuous improvement drives us to stay on the cutting edge of our industry and provide our customers with the best possible results on their parts. Recently, we’ve made significant capital investments to upgrade our equipment and ensure we’re providing the best possible solutions for our customers.

Here’s a look at how these new pieces of machinery are building on our contract manufacturing services and adding value for our customers.

Upgrading Our Multi-Axis Machining Capabilities with a Hurco VM30i

In a recent collaboration with one of our customers, the GPR team brought in two Hurco vertical machining centers (VMCs), replacing older equipment with state-of-the-art technology. These new machines allow us to expand our part number base, offering increased capabilities, delivering greater precision, and meeting more complex part requirements. In addition, this investment strengthens our ability to produce small consumable products in the semiconductor space.

The specific model we brought on board, the Hurco VM30i, is a high-quality 3-axis machining center that offers us a technological leg up. Equipped with advanced features like automatic tool setting and high-pressure coolant, this VMC is designed to enhance the accuracy and speed of our precision machining services. With robust automated systems, this machine produces error-free results, even on the most intricate parts, offering leaps forward in terms of consistency.

By investing in this top-of-the-line machining center, GPR Company is better positioned to offer more reliable production and expanded capabilities.

Reducing Manual Work and Improving Quality with Our Brand-New Industrial Deburring Machine

Another major investment we are planning to purchase is a 51-inch Timesaver industrial deburring machine, designed to streamline the finishing of our large-scale vacuum chambers.

A smooth, polished finish is critical in producing these vacuum chambers, particularly those with large plates. Right now, our team has to manually grain the plates in a linear direction, a time-consuming and laborious process. In addition, our belts are only four inches wide, meaning each plate requires upwards of 10 stepovers to achieve the desired finish.

This new machine would eliminate that need, as the 51-inch belt covers entire plates in one pass, leaving flawless, continuous grain with minimal to no visible stepovers. What’s more, its automated process would replace hours of manual work, resulting in higher-quality finishes in a fraction of the time.

Not only will the Timesaver add value for our customers, it will also improve internal efficiency at GPR Company by freeing up our team members who are currently performing manual graining processes. These skilled workers will be able to focus on other value-added tasks that are not yet automated so that they can contribute more directly to our output and success.

How Equipment Investments Contribute to GPR’s Big Picture

These equipment upgrades are part of our big-picture plan to invest in the future of our company so we can continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers in years to come. Our investments in new machinery, like the Hurco VMCs and Timesaver, enable us to produce parts with greater consistency and speed, all while ensuring final products meet the highest standards of quality. And this is just the beginning. Over the next several months, GPR Company will continue its capital investments in advanced technology to further enhance our production capabilities.

We are proud of the steps we’re taking to invest in our future—and yours. Stay tuned as we continue to add new equipment, improve our processes, and find new ways to yield the best possible results for our customers.
