Why Choosing an ISO Certified Manufacturer Matters

When you’re looking for a trusted partner in precision machining, choosing an ISO certified manufacturer can make a major difference.

At GPR Company, we’ve been ISO 9001:2015 certified for five years, and our commitment to quality management goes beyond simply holding the certification. For us, ISO is not just a badge of honor we wear; it’s a structured approach to continuous improvement that ensures our customers receive consistent quality every time.

What Goes Into Being an ISO Certified Manufacturer?

ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management system that emphasizes consistency, risk management, and customer satisfaction.

When GPR Company first made the proactive choice to work toward ISO certification, none of our customers had asked for the certification, but we saw where the industry was headed. Many of our customers have since been acquired by larger companies that require suppliers to have a formalized quality management system in place. So, because we were ahead of the curve, GPR was ready to meet their needs from day one.

Building Continuous Improvement Into Our BusinessISO certified manufacturer

When we first pursued ISO certification, we integrated it into the way we already operated. In doing so, we examined what GPR did well, incorporated these strengths into the ISO framework, and then addressed areas of improvement. And as ISO’s regulations have adapted over the years, we’ve adapted right along with them.

This approach, which has been simultaneously proactive and reactive, has allowed us to:

Going beyond the basics

For GPR, ISO certification is not a one-and-done achievement. Our certification follows a three-year audit cycle that includes one major audit and two surveillance audits. This structured process ensures that our quality management system continually meets evolving industry standards and maintains the highest level of compliance year after year.

It’s not enough for us to meet the baseline; we pride ourselves on exceeding it. That’s why we’ve engaged an outside consulting firm to go even further in reviewing our system from a completely independent perspective. Having a nonpartisan expert validate our system gives our customers added confidence in the integrity of our processes.

What’s next? Preparing for the future of ISO

The ISO standards are set to evolve again in 2026, with new requirements around sustainability and environmental practices. But GPR isn’t waiting until then. We’re already working with our consultants to lean into what’s ahead, understanding these changes and implementing proactive updates to our system.
